Where would one go to find aluminum tubing? Went to the 2 major hardware stores today and was very dissapointed. I did find some copper tubing....kinda expensive. I'm almost thinking of just buying a uhf/vhf antenna and tearing it apart....but thats cheating right? Thanks |

I want to try and construct a small 2m beam. It will be my first try at building an antenna. I've found plenty of cheap beams on the internet, but I want have a go at it myself. Its going to have to fit in my attic and theres not a whole lot of room up there to be turning an antenna. Steve, I've also heard copper is better, its a much better conductor than aluminum, but I have also heard the difference it miniscule. Of course, every little bit helps in this hobby  Since weight and weather wont be an issue (in the attic) I might just give in and try it. Thanks Thanks |
