Do we have any P25 VHF Repeaters in the area of Western Washington?

What Freqs and are they closed or open systems?

Nope -- at least not amateur.

There is a 2 meter P25 repeater on Cougar Mtn. Its on 146.475 out/147.475 in, NAC is $293. Its on a temporary antenna very low on tower so coverage is modest at best. Try with a mobile or portable on outside antenna.

Better antenna will be installed in a few weeks at about 60' above ground. Give it a try!

Got this one plugged into my mobile now as well. Put my call through a few times today from the Silverdale area but had no response so I don't know if Im making it good enough or not.

Let me know if you need any help with this Spencer. Im happy to help the amateur community when I can.

I just put a call out now. I'll be monitoring for a few hours if anyone wants to give it a test.

Unfortunately, even though you can do analog in 12.5 khz, the sub band that its in is for digital modes only. Hence not allowed to run it in mixed mode by WWARA like the area 440 repeaters that are mixed mode.

If a 'wideband' 2 meter slot ever opens up, drop me a line and we can put up a mixed mode machine.

Or you could just run it in mixed mode and not advertise it as a feature :)

It's working pretty good for me on the XTS5K. I can do portable from outside but it's best on the external antenna. I know it's working 'cuz I can hear the P25 on the Rx side. It helps that I'm in SE Bellevue too.

Just put in 293. It's pretty much the standard for all the P25 amateur repeaters in the area,

Does anyone use the repeater much haven't heard any traffic on it. I've tried keying up the repeater and not heard anything from it.

It's working fine. On P25, you generally don't get a response back from the repeater. I haven't heard any P25 conversations yet.
