I'm new with IRLP. I stumbled upon a local node/ 3481. Anyone mess around with IRLP? |

I have used the IRLP connections on the two UHF WW7SEA repeaters in Seattle (444.550 & 444.700) to call friends back home in Chicago when I am out and about on portable. The delay takes a little getting use to, especially when going from radio to repeater to remote repeater to destination radio. When I'm home I use Echolink via my PC instead of going over the local air. |

You found one of TIG's nodes! He has several scattered about in North Idaho. It's pretty simple to use. All nodes are a 4 digit number. Key the PTT and dial the node number (xxxx) you want to contact. It should/will come up and tell you "Node number xxxx link active". I'm pretty sure he uses "73" to disconnect but some people use "##" like they do with EchoLink. If I remember, that is a Simplex node up there. Can you hear it pretty well? |

Great on the base, spotty with the HT. The machine is at N7MNK's house. About 20 clicks south and around a mountain. (Everything is around a mountain here). TIG also has one in Newport.
