A long time friend has been confined to his house because of medical reasons. I was hoping to program an Astro Saber that I have laying around, with active 2 meter repeater frequencies....... I think he'd really enjoy it. His QTH is on the Sammamish Plateau.

It's been a while since I've monkeyed around on 2 meters. Can anyone recommend some good, active 2 meter repeaters that I should program in? In the mean time, I'm just scanning the 2 meter band and seeing what I come up with, as well as utilizing the Intercept DB.

The 2m repeaters on Cougar mtn are pretty active.

146.980 is up on Rattlesnake now. Not sure how that affects the coverage into that area.

146.82 tone 103.5 Mike and Key Club's 2 meter repeater.

146.62 tone 103.5 Gold Mountain/WWRA repeater. It's on Gold Mountain near Bremerton but it has nice coverage.

146.96 tone 103.5 PSRG I'm not quite sure where the repeater is located right now- somewhere in NW Seattle. Good user's net at 7:00 P.M. local on Mondays.

145.33 tone 179.9 BEARS repeater. It's not "Ham CB" but isn't as active as it has been. If you don't like constant chatter, that could be a good thing. If that is what you are looking for, that could be a downside. 145.33 is a repeater on the Evergreen Intertie, a user supported system of repeaters which covers Spokane, E. Washington, Seattle, Portland and places down South. Here's a link to that system and nets held on the Intertie:

If your friend would like to participate in the Intertie, a DTMF mike/pad is necessary to access the controls.

These should be usable by an HT from the Sammamish area but, of course, 25+ watts and a fixed antenna will be better.

+1 definitely program in a few simplex channels.

Also, what about WSP on 155.58 and perhaps the Wx channel 162.55? You could also program in PSE (for when power lines goes out.) Don't forget Marine and Railroad and USFS channels.

It's just endless! Stop it already!

Put Tac-M in there as well.
