Anyone know anything about the proposed Seattle repeater on the DCI system?

Apparently someone with Day Wireless ties putting it up...

Interesting. One of the calls for a Los Angeles repeater is KE6LE. He was a police officer in Tacoma but I can't remember his name right off. He had a 70cm repeater with his call in the Tacoma area about 15 years ago. I went to a 'repeater party' at his house. He was a pretty nice guy.

Accessing all of those Southern California repeaters and talking to those people would be kind of fun.

:liar: Try KE-SEVEN-LE.... First name was Mike...

They "sponsored" some transmitter hunts in the Tacoma area and I had the opportunity to participate in one...

I stand corrected except his name on his FCC listing is Scott. He has a new call: NB7N.
He still has the repeaters: 147.02 VHF / 442.45 UHF located in Tacoma, WA. both with PL of 103.5
I remember that the transmitter hunts were one of the entertainments back then.

I asked about the Mototrbo system that is proposed in Seattle and as of now has stalled, so expect nothing anytime soon.

Will Cougar Mt provide handheld coverage down towards Tacoma/Puyallup? Not too familiar with the mountain tops in that area. I have a MotoTrbo handheld and hope to give it a try next month when i come up.

That would be something like a 30 mile path, and not quite line-of-sight, and not knowing the operational requirements of "mototrbo" nor the EIRP of the proposed repeater, nor the antenna efficiency, receive sensitivity, or TX power of your handyscratchie, there is no way to even consider hazarding a guess...............

Well the plan is to deploy another TRBO repeater on Baldi as soon as i can get access and another down near olympia as well as downtown seattle, this way coverage would be good

The Big M said no to TRBO in an APX. Looks like a marketing decision. Go look at the notes on the MTUG website in the Feature Request.

Anyway, Someone give me some lat, lon, height and ERP....
