I received an email this morning about the "AnyTone" dual band mobile radio. This may be the same party that was talking about a Wouxun dual band mobile radio not to long ago. The link for product information is:

http://www.wouxun.us/item.php?item_id=294&category_id=64

I would be interested in your thoughts.

I'd be interested in a cross-band when/if the 146.960 (one & only 2m in the county) gets back on the mountain.
But not chinese.

'twould be cool if a ham radio came with a P-25 and Trunk feature.

Are there any trunking systems out there operating on the ham bands?

I'm a proud new owner of 14 16Ch. U/Vhf radios to rent out. Very impressed. Software simple. I put a few to work during the PT Wooden Boat Festival. Worked great even on the local fire system (with permission). I got mine from http://www.powerwerx.com/wouxun-radios/. Had a friend getting 30 so I got in on the $12 or so discount on the radio only.

Add fast scan and out of band mod and we're all sold. P25 we will see soon, not sure we will ever see a ham rig with trunking...

The Yaesu 7900 came shipped with out of band Tx.
The J-pole I made does 1.2:1 on 2M, 2.5:1 around 171.000, 446.000 a flat 1:1.

Everything indicates that production won't begin until late October or early November, but if you're ready to part with $290 today, this site will take your money.

Haven't they been talking about a radio like this for over a year and not bringing it to market?

The KG-UV920R has nearly identical specs, came out already, and flopped pretty bad due to poor performance.
