For anyone out in the west end of Clallam County... The a trio from the K7MMI group re-installed the 145.37 repeater at Ellis Mt Saturday. About a 20 hour day for us...

Was this the same one that Pete (K7PP) had on 145.370 (114.8 ) for Forks?

Yep! Pete Kruml n7kfj began making arrangements to re-install immediately after Pete Policani k7pp turned over the VHF side of things to him. It took a bit longer than expected.

This repeater is not linked to the local Forks UHF machine however. It is stand alone with plans to link to the Puget Sound system later.

I don't speak for everyone in Clallam County but I know the guys in the west end appreciate having 145.37 back. Other than Octopus, it was there only way out of the area. A number of years ago our club's remote receiver on Ellis went away when Richmond Radio removed their site on the other Ellis. The club has been considering a repeater on Ellis to link to our Striped Peak repeater on 146.76 as the west end is a big black hole for the ARES folks at the moment.

Just tried to bring up this repeater from S. Whidbey, and it's a no-go.

Looking at the Google maps topography, it *looks* like I should have a fairly decent path to it.....

Is it lower level than I think it is? Or, perhaps it's down at the moment?

The ERP is not very high. Only 3dB stick on the west side of the tower. Im not able to bring it up from Port Townsend either.
