I assume you mean is it commercially built? its just a inverted V dipole so you could make it yes, the problem I see with production is with the floppy ears that you might short something out in the wind etc. because of that problem I dont know that any commercial vendor would make it but they got the idea from somewhere so I assume so. |

With an upright V you can have better performance with the feedpoint close to the ground compared to having the elements horizontal (good for portable ops on a short mast I suppose). http://www.cometantenna.com/pdfs/H-422_spec_sheet.pdf |

I have one of these.. Buddipole. You can configure it about any way you want. http://www.buddipole.com/index.html Here is a pictutre of Budd Drummond (W3FF) who invented the Buddipole. You can find him usually anytime on HF Pack 18.157.5 USB PRIMARY CALLING. :D |

I am real torn on if I should buy one or not, I really love having it be self supporting and coil loaded for smaller footprint, I just cant get over the price vs my trusty doublet cost (about 11 bucks in wire and PVC) |

The Buddipole is expensive but it sure is handy to take along on a trip. I always use my MFJ-259B antenna analyzer to set it up. There is a Buddipole site for making home made Buddipoles that you might look at and build your own. http://www.qsl.net/w3ff/ There is also a Buddipole User's Group on Yahoo Groups that has lots of good info... Maybe this thread should be moved to the amateur radio forum ??? :D Point, click. Here it is. :D |
