9913 and/or RG-8/U coax has been recommended to me for use on an outdoor j-pole. I would be using it with my Yeasu FT-60r for transmitting and receiving.

Does anyone know of a local source for this? I know that HRO and
R & L electronics carry this. I have also seen quite a bit on ebay. I was just hoping to find some locally.

Many thanks,

Wayne,

I have had success buying this stuff by the foot at Alphatronics, on Andover Pk East, south of Southcenter.

I don't have contact info on hand, but i know if you google them you can get their contact info.

They also usually have connectors on hand as well.

73,
Nick

RG8 tends to be lossy at VHF, 9913 is much lower loss, but, has to be handled and installed carefully for it to work properly for any length of time.

Times LMR 400 or equivalent is actually much better stuff... and doesn't really cost any more per foot.
