Just looked at the ARRL web site and see the new repeater directories are shipping for 2010/2011. Ordered one.

Received the new ARRL Repeater Directory today and noted that the K7PP repeater on 147.200 is still listed even though it has been changed sometime ago so so much for accuracy.

Also noted some of the local area repeaters call signs have not been updated. Even the 145.190 repeater on Lyman Hill call sign still shows as N7UQA and was changed to N7GDE well over a year ago.

The 145.250 repeater on Mt Erie is still listed and has been down for at least 3 years.

Only 2 D-Star repeaters are listed for Washington. Both in Vancouver.

No APCO 25 repeaters for Washington listed.

Hope they did a better job on other updates. A waste of money so far. Should have stayed with last years edition and saved $11 + shipping.

Better luck next year I hope. I was looking forward to some new stuff....... :(

I wasn't going to reply to the post originally I didn't want to knock the purchase but that is why IMO that book is icky, I like the artsci books better personally.

remember the ARRL books are 2 year books

Yeah, this one is supposed to be for 2010 - 2011.

"The Authoritative Source of VHF/UHF Repeater Listings" so it says on the front cover :roll:

That Artsci book has had a 2 meter repeater listed in my town for many years that has never existed. Nothing on that freq is anywhere near here. I have sent them corrections for years and each new edition has the same old mistake. I quit buying them because of that.

The WWARA used to publish a very accurate book but hasn't for some years now. Too bad.

I don't think there is a book published that has updated info anymore.

Even the US Repeater database has a bunch of errors and is not updated very well.
That's the only thing they do so there is no excuse for that.

The database on here is much more accurate than anything else that I know of.
Brad shared his very good list of repeaters a little while back. Thanks Brad.

It is a sad fact that we are not an all amateur site and still have a better database for amateur repeaters than the ARRL.

NWHAM.com is pretty accurate :)

I dunno; I always find myself looking at the artpubsci book and the ARRL directory and as well as word of mouth when building templetes for repeaters out of area.

yea my only problem they dont print the material well.. paper dont travel well in my family haha.

haha no I like the books problem is that the nwham site you need to print, and unbound paper gets messy since Im a little rough

Back in the days before the internet sites I used to make up notebooks with frequency lists. They make plastic cover notebooks with page protector sheets
bound inside. You could slip in the pages you wanted and they were able to take a lot of abuse without any problem.

I think you can still get these notebooks at the Daiso stores in malls.
We had one in Bellingham but it closed about a year ago.
I know they still have a store in the Alderwood Mall and I think they have one in Federal Way. It is kind of like a Japanese dollar store.

It's fun to see all the things in those stores. :D

When I go on a trip I still print out all the freq stuff I can find and stick them in one of these notebooks to take along.

We have the option for raw text dump with selectable fields. Thats about as simple as it gets.

There's an old timer I know who used to make up repeater guides in the 60s on an IBM Selectric typewriter and make copies for people on a mimeograph machine for $1.00.
