Federal Way ARC is holding it's monthly meeting tonite. Normally, this would not be "newsworthy", but this month the club Prez' has taken a rather novel approach for the group activity. Instead of listening to some boring speaker, we are having a radio "show & tell". Go to http://www.fwarc.org for info. There is a link that provides a map to the meeting location. Fun was had by all. Had some nice vintage gear on display. HF up on the air, with portable antenna on a stand in the back. Working both phone and CW. Service monitor was setup to test gear, some antenna tuning excercises etc. Biggest excitement though was when club Prez' son fell and broke his right arm just below the wrist. I looked down and saw angles / shapes that are not humanly possible without breakage. I felt real bad for him, thought it was likely the most pain he ever felt. Prez tells me not so, he then proceeded to say "remember when we were kids and we would tobaggan down the stairs in a sleeping bag... Holy crap, that family needs some serious risk management! |
