Im to cheap to buy the software, and programming this thing by hand. How come I cant overwrite #1 memory on the VHF, and UHF side's? It looks funny with #1 showing 144.00, and 430.000 when Im scanning the rest of my freq's. On that note, I guess I can take the cable for my VX6R, and build another plug with an old PS2 off of an older mouse, and grab one of the free downloads, and program it that way. Makes mw wonder how much fun Im going to have with my 857D when I pull that out of the box, and start playing with that  |

i have the 7800, i did use software to overwrite it, i haven't tried via the keys, can you just pop a new memory in slot one to overwrite? Yaesu FT–8800R: Memory Storage Press V/M for VFO mode, tune the receive frequency. Press SET to enter Set mode. Set tone mode via Menu 41 TONE M. Set tone frequency via Menu 40 TONE F. Press and hold DIAL for ½ second to exit Set mode. Press and hold SET for ½ second, turn to desired memory channel, press SET again to store frequency. Yaesu FT–8800R: Miscellaneous Operations TX Power: Press LOW to change level. Rev TX/RX: Press right REV(V/M) (if Menu 20 is set to KEY2). PRI channel: Store the frequency for the Priority Channel into Memory Channel 1. Dual Watch: Press and hold HM for ½ second. Lock Keys/Buttons: Set using Menu 21 Lock. |

I think Im going to wipe this thing out tonight, and try it all over again. Im sure that I may be doing something really stupid, and just not catching it. |

Im going to give that a shot, and see how it works out. |
