Post subject:  HAM repeaters on Chinook Pass?

We always enjoy taking a trip Chinook Pass, but some of the yay-hoo drivers made me reflect on just how long it could take to get emergency services way up there with limited cell coverage.

I think the Grass Mtn repeater gives pretty good coverage on the west side, but does anyone know of good VHF/UHF repeaters on the east side past Tipsoo? (There was a 50 Mhz repeater listed at Raven's Roost.)

Most of the trip is in the canyon, so coverage is probably spotty at best.

Thanks for any insights! 73's... :) Derry

try 147.300. I've been able to bring it up in some spots from Yakima west over the top.

Also the 145.27 machine works in places. It's the northern most repeater in the WA7SAR system.

There was a uhf machine on Ravens Roost, and old AT&T longlines site but I do not remember its frequency or know if its still there... 6 meter stuff there also.

Just north of the hwy.
