Mark. This who you purchased from?

Well the person who Mark and I bought from is the same company/seller.
The bottom of the Ebay auction says "2010 SainStore Inc. Designed by SainSonic.com"
And the only Amazon seller who has this radio is "by Sain Store"

I emailed the person who left the bad feedback today and here was his reply to me.
I'm kinda pissed now too.

"After a couple days of not getting the unit I emailed them and they said it would be about 20 days to get one. I told him I was right in Arizona and should only take one day if he had them in Phoenix he stated it was a "Mistake" so I cancelled it and got a refund.

I don’t like to do business like that. I felt they were trying to hide it. The other company said straight up it was shipping from Hong Kong."

That's interesting; they picked California for their Amazon listing. The FBA is probably the way to go; it'll get shipped out of some Amazon warehouse somewhere in the lower 48.

I'll wait a day or so to see if the tracking info updates.

Kinda derailed this thread. O' well.

Got another odd unsolicited update from the seller. I suspect he is getting some unwanted pressure from other buyers or perhaps Ebay.

"I?m so sorry for the delay email. Your item had been shipped, and your tracking # is (removed). Please check the delivery status on www.usps.com or www.fedex.com.

May be you still see the tracking number is marked ?Shipped? at your end. Because we select a 3RD- party fulfillment company for order fulfillment. Once we handed your parcel to the fulfillment company, we will mark the order as ?Shipped? on eBay system to avoid duplicate processing and inform you the parcel actually shipped out.

Please check your shipping status base on the Tracking # we provide to you in this email.
And we suggest you to check the delivery information on USPS or Fedex official website. Sometimes eBay system could not get the accurate shipping information from shipping carrier.

Your understanding and patience will be much appreciated, and should any inquiry please feel free to contact us.

Best,
Ivan

I'm alright with buying foreign designed/built products. But I don't care to buy something that is shipped from across the pond. For obvious reason.

In this case, the seller is a bit deceptive. Which pisses me off.

Sounds like it's being shipped via ShitPost. Shipping FedEx from China would cost at least half what you paid.

I see the 5R+ for $58 and three different listings for the 5R all in the high 40s. But no 5R+ for $48.

Hard to believe we went from $300+ to Wouxun at under $150 and now this for under $50 if a few years. Maybe amateur radio will increase with such cheap access to a dual-band radio. The Wouxun even has a FM radio in it that can be accessed from the buttons as it has no keyboard - way better for radios I rent out...

The propellers will fall off.
Is a cheap-buck radio going to last?

Dropped my Wouxun onto sidewalk at least 4 times this weekend. All good.

Photographing Bruce Dern and Chely Wright for the weekend. Better the radio then the camera... Got to go up in our ladder truck to take a shot of the outdoor movie showing The Empire Strikes Back. Way easier than the PPower bucket truck a few years ago. Almost missed the shot because I was shaking...
