This is a long shot question.
Reference the FT-270 & VX-170.

Question:
Since these two radio's are very similar, I'm wondering if the 170/270 software are compatible with each other.
Anyone tried this?

Thanks,
-J

I owned both but never used the programming software. It depends on how they designed their software, but I would think it would work for either.

Too bad the radios are not the same. I loved the VX-170 and regret selling it. I bought the 270 thinking it would be "better" and boy was that a mistake.

No more Yaesu products for me.

I like the 170, needs a new battery (3-4 years old).
I found a 2500mAh.
Needs a high gain ant.
Might as well get the software while I'm at it.
Sure makes it easier.

This decision was made for me.
My VX-170 is in the Moyie River about seven miles south of Canada.

This involved a capsized canoe, and the loss of a Canon sx230 too.

I think I'll go with the 270, it does split tones.

I lost a cell phone in Utah while dirt-biking. So if you find one....
