Some time ago, there was an operating manual available on the net for this system. It gave operatng instructions for the auto-patch etc. All I can find are pages that mention the system.

Has anyone heard what the status of this system is? It used to be able to do some cool stuff...6M could link to 70cm and more. Auto-patch hasn't worked in a while too...

Several years ago, I used to use this system via the 6m port. About once a week, I would briefly speak to Chuck as he did his rounds.

Then, he disappeared, and the system suddenly had no activity. I understand that a close ham friend of his (the guy that assisted him with the technical side of system maintenance) died. After this death, Chuck apparently lost interest in ham radio and the repeater system in general. The 220 repeater (224.680) seems to be up, but I have not tried any of the other repeaters in some time.

When I go to his repeater web page, it defaults to a different page now - the "Western Washington ATV Society". This page mention the W7SRZ system, but only as a possible way to contact members of the ATV club on the air. The old web page that described the system and it's history seems to be gone.

So, the short answer is - "I really don't know". It's too bad, as it was the only "real" multi-band multi-site repeater system in Seattle proper.

It is sad. The 2m system on memorial hospital gives great local coverage and when the auto-patch was functional, you could make a call and not feel like you were irritating half of Western Washington.
