Hmmmm....Bainbridge Island PD has freq that as a tac channel, but I cannot locate anyone with the name "Grant" there... WSP has a guy named Grant, and a rank of major, AND uses VHF, but as of 2005 Grant was still just a trooper. Curiouser and curiouser... |

Maybe it was Cowlitz County Sheriff, they use it as a dispatch freq. Could have picked up a transmission from that far away. Richard |

Was listening to it tonight from downtown Seattle, and heard what was obviously Bainbridge Island PD on that freq...They kept calling it Channel 3. One guy with a southern accent, and one on what sounded like a base station radio or console....No names though, just unit numbers in the 8xx series. Listening to the wav file, it sounds like someone joking around. |

Found on the web: 155.670 MHz- RCMP Simplex All the Coast Guard helicopters in the province have this frequency in them as well as the helicopters from the Department of Natural Resources. This is our frequency of choice as it is the working channel for most of our search operations. Some of the RCMP helicopters have this frequency with a CTCSS tone on it so they do not hear the chatter of police radar traps going on. Check to see if this is so. We ran into this problem recently while using the RCMP helicopter with the FLIR system. |
