I live in Mill Creek and use a PRO-2052 with ScanControl. I'm interested in using an antenna in the future and would love to work with someone to determine which antenna, and whether it can go in the attic or needs to go on the roof (ugh!).

i once lived in a condo where outside cb antennas were a no no; found several reduced size half waves that worked well when placed into the attic. were i you, i'd see how much vertical and horizontal clearance i had, then hit the web and shop and i'd look mostly for designs keyed to uhf/vhf and not the taller-wider hf stuff. heck staple steel screening to your joists and set a mag mount on it, you'd be suprised at the gain over a rubber duckie.

If you dont want an antenna on the roof then, the attic is the place.

What are you trying to listen too??

HF works well with an attic mount. The wood doesn't absorb those freqs as much. If so, go with your standard 1/2 wave dipole.
