Someone had a 'bucket malfunction' and couldn't drop their payload. That later switched to an intermittent bucket drop. Comms were scratchy at best and you know pilots just love to mumble at low volume! Just finally had a chance to check the radio logs from the Sumner Grade Fire: 122.925- WA DNR Air-to-Air. Bucket drops, media helos, WANG coordination, etc. 151.1375 (156.7) the same VTAC-11 traffic Nick mentioned. 151.2875 (103.5) WA DNR Air-to-Ground 2. Bucket drops, coordination, etc. (recording attached) 151.310 (103.5) WA DNR Tac-1 151.415 (103.5) WA DNR Common 159.270 (103.5) WA DNR Air-to-Ground 1. Lots of the usual DNR repeaters- North Bend, Enumclaw and Eatonville. 167.475 (CSQ) USFS Air to Ground 41 168.650 (110.9) National Flight Following And a few brief transmissions on the National Guard TGIDs on IWN, mostly concerning helicopter maintenance and flight following.

" NMG " NMG is the callsign of the National Hurricane Center's Atlantic basin radiofax radio station. It broadcasts from the United States Coast Guard station in New Orleans, Louisiana with 4 kilowatts of power. TAFB weather forecasts are transmitted full-time on the following frequencies: 4317.9 kHz 8503.9 kHz 12789.9 kHz. NMG also broadcasts at 17146.4 kHz between 1200 and 2045 UTC. |
