The old Mt Octopus Site 4 is now Site 73. 72 is probably Neah Bay but I have no way to confirm that as yet. PS. Grass Mtn control channel is acting up. The primary control is not failing over properly and thus the site is switching between its alternate and the primary frequency. This can happen multiple times per minute. If anyone has contact with an IWN tech please let them know... |

I've also seen a ton of refused affiliations/logins from WSP radios on multiple puget sound region IWN sites. Edit: Going through past notes, may reveal why... Quote: WSP elected not to proceed with further implementation of the automatic roaming function for the Land Mobile Radio System project. As configured, automatic roaming does not meet the agency’s business needs. To meet state patrol user requirements, WSP is leveraging a combination of WSPs trunked system and manual roaming to the FBI trunked system. The decision to not implement the automatic roaming function has a positive impact on the project schedule and budget and stabilizes scope. The project anticipates completion by July 15, 2020, and the cost to complete is less than originally estimated. The project made significant progress to resolve project challenges and now has a solid plan to move forward. While scope, schedule, and budget are stable, the project is assessed yellow as the recent decision is implemented. So, WSP is only gonna be using IWN in an emergency, it sounds like. |

I had only seen these on the protected Seatac Airport DMZ but it looks like they've expanded it to the core tri-county sites. |

Gotta love the idiots that thought this project up.... 'We need to spend tens of millions of dollars to upgrade our radios and infrastructure so we can operate on another system that we won't actually end up operating on unless we actually have to, and our old radios would have done the same thing we're doing right now, for the most part'. P25 conv on M7100s is a cheap option compared to the amount of money they blew on this. |
