It's my understanding that they are going to a Motorola phase 2 trunking system. All law enforcement will be encrypted while other talk-groups like fire, interoperability and emergency management will be in the clear |

Thank you for the reply! Yes, this is also what I'm hearing. Looks like we still have a couple of years till the P25 system is put in service. I will start saving for that Digital scanner. |

Observed some (SNO911 ?) radio techs conducting ( analog ) field testing on Talkgroup 62992 today. Brief conversation regarding the King Co system interface design, digital encryption, etc. |
