SNOPAC & SNOCOM New World Systems CAD is set to go live June 9, 2015. This should be some great software considering it cost them $10 million and was suppose to launch in 2011.

I wish them luck, and hope their experience is different from mine.

So far it looks like it will work out. ( fingers crossed)

I have been playing with it a little, and there will be a learning curve. I do think we are going to be really slow for a while, but as with anything new...

We will adapt, and things will speed up.

So New World was designed as a Police Software Dispatch program and they tried to make it work for fire and it did not work for King County. They have made changes to the software to now make it work for fire dispatch.

But guese what ? Rummor says it wont be June 9th, another delay?

Another delay...

On the plus side.

I have not seen so many smiles in this place as I have seen last night, and we have taken a break for the day from entering calls, resulting in that annoying voice from locution. :)

The struggle continues...

And that's about all I'm willing to say right now.

"Going live in September or October makes more sense than June, he said"

So what's the over/under for it going live by Oct 31?

I have heard a lot of chatter on the radio regarding running the two dispatch systems in tandem.

That is what we have been doing for the last few months.

I am not aware of that going to be the case on the big day.

Oct. 27th is the scheduled go live date for New World CAD. For SNOPAC you may want to make sure you have programed into your scanner Talk Group 496 for SNO CO Fire West Dispatch, Talk Group 528 for SNO CO Fire East Dispatch, and Talk Group 560 for SNO CO Fire North Dispatch. From what I understand these Talk Groups will be used for Locution Dispatch.

From what I have heard SNOCOM will not be using Locution at this time.
