Hey guys, I just drove back from Boise last night and left the 996xt on close call. I picked up an interesting hit while driving thru Yakima. I passed by a Sheriff deputy going the opposite direction and just as I passed him the close call hit. The freq was 173.3125 NFM. Pretty sure it wasn't P25. The callsign heard was "Charlie 3" and he was talking to a dispatcher. Unfortunately, I didn't hear anything else on that freq... Any ideas? |

Wireless mike. I've picked them up before, not sure if they're all on the same channel or they can select from a list to avoid clobbering each other at the doughnut shop. |

Hmm not sure Flash. I heard both sides -- the dispatcher and the unit saying he was going to X location. It happened so fast and I didn't read the frequency right away. I would also expect the wireless to have scratchy reception. This was a clear, strong signal -- with zero fading. |

Probably not a federal agency. The FCC ULS lists more than a few licenses for this frequency in Washington state⦠- Chris |

I'd keep this and a couple other of the adjacent channels in your scan lists. I've coordinated YCSO and RiverCom on some of those for vehicular repeaters. 150.775 is another favorite to use now. |

He's not supposed to be driving around with it on...must've had his mobile on scan and it was stopped on YPD main. |

173.325 is a frequency used for video production and filming. You would probably hear the person in the car and the person on the radio if it was the mic for the dash camera if the officer was in his car. ???? |

A South King County agency used to use 169.445 (IIRC) for body mikes, both for undercover ops and the very first in-car dashcams/mikes around....Fun listening if you were close. |
