WSP is moving to a mixed-mode, multi-band system. They're going to be using Motorola APX 7000 portable radios (1200 of them), and APX 7500 mobile radios (1200 of them). They're going to be using a mix of trunked and conventional sites/systems. IWN is one of them.

Additionally, they're going to be building out eight 700mhz trunked sites.

Been on the air for about 4 months now; surprised it took this long for people to notice. I guess most forget about that "search" feature on their radios...

That's not what cabletech says. :D

Any ideas where the 8 700mhz sites will be?

They have been bending the antennas for a while to get better coverage. In the early days there was no signal at Sleater Kinney or Nisqually. I just need to get more popcorn and watch it come on line.

002001=WSP VA Hosp Seattle NAC 710
002002=WSP Puyallup NAC 710
002003=WSP SeaTac NAC 710
002004=WSP Thurston JBLM NAC 710

These are just best guesses so far.

#3 seems to be north, and I don't think #1 is near the VA. #2 does seem to be south. Would be nice to have a call sign.

Callsign? Hell, it'd be nice if they were even licensed instead of hiding via STA.

2001 is full-strength in east Bellevue. Perhaps Squak or Tiger Mtn? 2003 is only 1-2 bars but I can pick up the control channel and decode it. So SeaTac seems like a solid guess.

UPDATE: Was out driving around and Tower 2003 comes in full-quieting near downtown Bellevue. Could this be in Seattle?

202 or 2002 depending on how you look at is full quieting downtown Seattle as far north as the U, and I can get it the same at my place in Tacoma with my attic discone.

Try programming them all with max attenuation... the only place along I-90 where 203 breaks squelch for me is near Lake Sammamish; it doesn't break squelch I-5 south to BFI. Perhaps it's actually at WSP Eastgate, otherwise it's coming down the lake.

Are you still able to hear this one? I was up on top of a hill tonight and couldn't hear 2002 period. Should have been easy from 2500ft. Was able to copy 2001, 2003 and 2004. 2001 and 2004 were next to full-quieting. 2003 was dead when I was blocked from the NE, E, SE, S directions... came to full-quieting as soon as I moved W, SW... so perhaps either beaming from N?

Just a FYI --

The site control channel frequencies have changed. Here are the current control channel frequencies:

201 774.28125
202 773.30625
203 774.30625
204 773.29375

From my QTH, I can only verify Site 201 is working and active.

Still has the silly CHANGEME callsign too...

204 at the Tacoma office is working fine, showing 201-203 as 700 neighbors; 107, 111 and 112 on VHF.

In other words the "c" & "a" have switched on all four sites?
