Read here: http://home.comcast.net/~k7cj/letter.pdf Their 10-month extension to delay the narrowband move was granted: http://home.comcast.net/~k7cj/order.pdf So does this mean something like Tait systems? http://www.taitradio.com/products-and-s ... and-mpt-ip |

I had a chance to re-read this letter. I saw this the first time but it didn't register. So it sounds like PSE is dumping their 900mhz EDACS system and VHF/UHF systems and moving to 217-220 Mhz MPT-1327 system..? Doesn't this seem rather odd? Does MPT-1327 give them some great feature that another mode cannot? |

Some low speed wireless data where they don't have it now. |

Quote: 217-220 Mhz Im sure a consultant is involved. Their channels are pretty clear to be abandoned so readily. Did I say that outloud? |

Quote: The new radio system is not compatible with any of the existing radio systems or mobile transceivers currently used by PSE. Interesting. Not compatible with their existing MPT1327 systems near Ellensburg or Dayton? |

217-220??? Maybe up to 222??? Sounds like the Securicor salesman talked a good line... Geez... A decade ago Peninsula Light Co. started a "wholly-owned subsidiary" called Northwest Telecommunications Co. to install a statewide network of similar gear and due to lack of customers tore the whole thing out a year later... The other problem was the intersite networking didn't perform as advertised. Mobile units and handhelds cost a small fortune compared to NBFM, and the handhelds were monstrous. I have one of the base station radios here... the SSPA will make around 100W PEP on the 222 ham band  Guess I will keep the SSB RX gear a little longer :D Eric KB7DQH |

A very rare standard, with support from NZ, and in a spectrum not used by many. This will be a piece of cake to operate and support. |

Did some searching of the 216-220 range and found the following using trunkview. I'm still new with this software and protocol so bear with me. Quote: 217.8415 ID:5119 PL:110.9 Adjacent Sites: ID:51A9 CH:179 ID:51B1 CH:173 ID:51D1 CH:142 ID:5231 CH074 217.7675 ID:50C9 PL:110.9 217.7425 ID:51C1 PL110.9 Adjacent Sites: ID:5231 CH:074 217.5675 ID:5169 PL:146.2 (Possibly a different system?) 217.5125 Possible voice frequency? Morse code every so often. I can't seem to find any of these frequencies licensed to anyone. |

I don't believe the FCC requires individual frequency licenses in that case. |

In Bellevue here, I'm getting: 217.5025 217.5075 @ 110.9 & CWID *217.5425 @ 110.9 217.6775 @ 146.2 217.6825 @ 146.2 217.7675 @ 146.2 *217.8175 @ 110.9 217.9825 * = full-quieting Will try out Trunkview here later tonight. Getting 50B1 as the ID for 217.8175. Can't seem to get the others to decode. (I'm using SDR# and RTL for audio input) ... may have to try audio patch from PSR-800.
