WORK SCHEDULE: This position is overtime eligible based on a 40-hour workweek; Monday through Friday with normal work hours of 7:30 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. POSITION PURPOSE: This position is in the King County Radio Communication Services Section (RCS) and performs skilled technical work programming, installing, and troubleshooting land mobile radio equipment and related auxiliary equipment including mobile and portable two way radios, mobile data devices and fixed site equipment. Work is performed in both shop and field environments for users of the regional radio systems such as the King County Sheriff’s Office as well a wide variety of other government agencies. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES INCLUDE: Install and remove all types of radio and electronic communications equipment, radio site equipment, and electronic security systems. Isn't peanut butter about $10 a jar in Alaska? And let's not talk about the cost of toilet paper. Have you seen the joke about using one square of toilet paper to take care of business? Actually, the prices aren't much worse than down in America...It's the so-called 'luxury' items that they get you on. Staples (milk/eggs etc) are just a little more than they were in Seattle, but things like soda, munchies and the like are 3 times as much. One square? lol, I use polar bear fur myself. Softer, and environmentally friendly (even if it isn't bear-friendly). :lol: |

I worked for Motorola for a few years and I made 21.75 and hr, I got laid of in 2002 and now I work for AAA and make 9.35 and hour I think that is a lot better job then what I make now... |

It's an installers job. The bench techs and field guys are compensated differently. sd |

yes they probably are, but I look at it this way, if I get in as a low paid installer with all my Motorola certifications and experience then I might be able to slide in the tech position when it opens. I can tell you I would rather be doing install work on radios at 20.00 an hour then driving a towtruck for 9 an hour! |
