Does anyone know which radio vendor that IWN uses for the local Seattle area?

The whole system is Moneyrolla.

Nick, all the hardware for the IWN infrastructure I've seen is Motorola. And all of the subscriber units are as well, but there were some Kenwood and Harris radios, I think, being used in the field for testing. Harris is promoting their participation in the Washington DC area IWN sites, so I don't know how much of the equipment of theirs was used...

Thanks guys. From what I've been hearing, it does sound like IWN infrastructure hardware has multiple vendors from Motorola, Harris, EF Johnson, etc. It's beening reported that (non-Motorola) IWN trunks are appearing over the country. Their control channels have slightly different outputs.

I've noticed on my PSR-800 that it seems to pick up the IWN system (very fast lock time) compared to the 396XT. I am starting to wonder if IWN has moved a couple of trunks to their X-TDMA format.

The only IWN sites I've actually heard of being on the air are in Oregon/Washington and in the National Capitol Region (Washington DC). If there are other TRUNKED IWN sites out there, I would love to hear where they are.

Regarding the scanners behavior on IWN sites, I have noticed that most of the sites in the PacNW are somehow configured so that the scanners do not display site ID or WACN, some don't even show System ID. But some sites do display info on the scanners, particularly some of the original 15 sites along I-5. However, even the sites that don't properly display on the scanner do just fine on the P-25 monitoring software, like PRO96COM.

So far the sites I have watched with PRO96COM have not displayed any indication of the X2 or Phase II channels...

Chris, I wonder if they have been tweaking the control channel firmware recently. :)

Could be, but I've noted this behavior with the scanners for years now. It has always seemed like the IWN control channel was just slightly different than other P-25 systems in some subtle way.

I'll offer this as ERRATUM, . . . for the discussion. Unless others have some better data to consider.

We're also reminded that the WSP will soon "join" (among other systems) the (P25) IWIN System for WSP's future coverage and operational needs, . . . and the freqs shown below are / were at one time planned to be affiliated with the existing Burlington Hill site.
