For as long as I've been driving through this intersection this antenna has been there. Not sure exactly what it's for, that's where you come in...

1- You have the same phone as my wife. Fail.

2- I'd say traffic light timing data or something like that? Try 458.675 or 458.975 (WPMG809).

Exif data shows it as a Samsung Galaxy S.

Right on both counts. If the screen is in landscape, I have to bang the bottom of the phone on the table to get it to change to portrait. Stupid accelerometer gets stuck I think. I'm hoping to replace with a HTC here in November or maybe even a crappy iphone, depending on what Jobes comes out with here next month.

ANYWAYS......the antenna. Geo FCC Search reveals nothing.

Here is a PDF that shows what PSE AMR stuff looks like.

http://egov.oregon.gov/PUC/electric_gas ... pollom.pdf

On page 8 in the middle picture shows the box on a power pole with 900MHz antennas.

1st and Knob Hill, right? I'd say YFD traffic light control.

This got me thinking, is there any RF controlled fire signals?

Everything here in town is via opticom strobe emitter on emergency vehicles. There is another signal out in the county with a yagi up next to the actual signal lights. I'll try to snap a picture of it next week some time. It's the only one like it in the area too.

City of Kennewick uses yagi's in the 453 range to control their signals via Joe Butte. Have you seen anymore of these verticals around town? They look like the PSE ones that are few and far between as radio hops back to wherever. I also see the two 900mhz antennas mounted on boxes on poles pointed downward at different sites as well. Could be anyone really, Centralia uses yagi's on poles for water telemetry as Centralia City light owns the poles.

Maybe something to do with the traffic cam on the other pole?

I wonder why they would put a high powered omni-directional wifi antenna for a traffic-cam?
