Yeah after seeing your post title I was just thinking why are they not on the Benton County P25 system... I know they're doing all of this weird simulcast (trunk + VHF/UHF rebroadcast) but they should just migrate... |

Its money and politics, not all of Franklin Co wants to lose it's control over the 911 system. The Sheriff has reservations and N Franklin would need more sites, Connell, Kahlotus, Basin City for such a sparsely populated area. They would still need VHF radios to talk to Adams and other counties. It makes sense for Pasco to go to this. Back in the early 70's Kennewick and Pasco were both on 155.610 with separate dispatch. Connell Police used to have a simplex phone patch on 154.785 which connected you to the patrol car. They are now Charles units on the countywide 155.910. |
