It appears that Kirkland PD is dispatching Mercer Island PD on the Mercer Island PD talkgroup(18928). Not sure if this is 24/7 or just during "peak" hours or not. Their unit id's are "IDA". Just an assumption on my part but I am thinking that maybe Kirkland is dispatching BOTH Mercer Island and Medina PD's on the 18928 talkgroup. It would then make sense to make Mercer Island PD units "IDA" units and let Medina keep the "Mary" designator. I didn't get a chance to listen for very long so this is not confirmed :? . |

Not sure if this applies but "Ida" units are usually detectives, investigators. Don't know if they use the same but that is commonly used that way. PK |
