I've in the past seen licenses for small (1 base; 5 mobiles) NBFM P25 systems at most hatcheries. xxxxxx stated those are electronic alarm systems in place to monitor waterflow through 'headgates' and pay attention to things like water level drops or surges, and broadcast an alarm which will alert a hatchery staff member via pager or automated phone message.
The mobiles are the various alarm points; the base is the xmit/rx point for keeping in contact with the alarm points, both receiving their alarms and querying them as to their status. |
