 Post subject: CW IDs?

I don't really spend my life staring at Trunker, but -

It's sitting on KC/VC Simo, and there are now five frequencies used for CW identifier... thought it was bad decodes or such, so I put those channels in a conventional scanner, and sure enough they all really do transmit Morse code.

I noted that the new ones are "rarely assigned" ones. Sean, is this some trick to keep the transmitters warm and dry?
