Plenty of SFD training traffic tonight on all sorts of hitherto rarely-used talkgroups...Command 13, MTAC, etc. Good stuff.

451.3000 (103.5) KOM948 - Qwest Corporation
Voice IDs itself (erroneously) as KOM949 Seattle at :02 and :32. No license for 949 exists, and the 948 license was cancelled a year ago.

This is a legacy TMRS repeater which back in the day had frequencies set aside under 47CFR90.81 (which I believe was has been removed). There are a handful of these still active nationwide though in some cases it seems the mobile radios no longer exist and someone forgot to renew the license and/or turn off the repeater.

Somewhere I have the old nationwide TMRS repeater/PL list. Its an interesting piece of history as it was the first system of repeaters having (mostly) national coverage using a common set of frequencies.

Didn't Motorola attempt the same thing with small 5 or 10 channel 800mhz Type-1 systems waaaaaay back? Sort of a precursor to Nextel, marketed at OTR trucking companies?

And I'm liking the British accent on the voice identifier. Wonder if she's single?

451.325 was licensed to Qwest and on-line at Green Mt east of Kalama till just a couple of years ago. Looks like the put in for a cancellation in 2012. Talked to a Verizon cell tech around five years ago or so and he had a radio on that system for backup communications.
