Fairchild AFB operations temporarily move to Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE, Wash. (AP) -- Fairchild Air Force Base will move operations to the Moses Lake airport next year while runways and taxiways are rebuilt in Spokane.
The Columbia Basin Herald reports the Port of Moses Lake has approved a one-year lease with Fairchild worth just over $1 million.
The Herald reports the one-year lease starts Jan. 1 and involves the base's use of four buildings and 74 acres of port property.
At the Port of Moses Lake, airmen will use the former Japan Air Lines hangar that's now leased to Boeing.
