The PCSO has two Cessnas one 206 with FLIR and video downlink equipment that is staffed by 2 pilots and a tech in the back, the other is a 182. They also have a Helicopter MD369E it is privately owned and operated by a Volunteer he donates his aircraft and time for S&R and surveillance, also works with the East and Central Pierce FD for S&R and brush fire spotting. The Pilot is a special commissioned deputy he also flies with a second pilot and Fire Department Rescue Tech.
They are not a full time Air Operations unit, very similar to SWAT or something like that. Many of them are Detectives and Patrol officers and come man the Air unit as needed.
