After listening to the rollover with ejection call on I-90 this evening, I noticed that Airlift doesn't use the trunked system TG for comms to harborview. I caught them using the Medcomm-1 channel for patient update to ER. Does Airlift not usually use the trunked system TG's? i don't believe I have ever heard them on those. Do they always use the Medcomm-1 channel? Thanks. |

Right, I am aware of this "dispatch" freq. I was curious about the trunked system Tg's and whether or not they use them? Like today I heard the Airlift Helo calling HV hospital on Medcomm-1 with the patient update and in bound times etc. I was wondering if they normally use the Medcomm channels for this "patient update" and in route to hospital call. |

I think (but am not sure) that Medcom 1 is patched to a TG here in King County. |

463.000 (179.9) is patched to 61808 on the King County trunked system. |

I've never heard them on the patch...only on MedComm 1. Even when in range of one of the King County sites |

A trunked 800 MHz type accepted radio for that aircraft is about $ 80,000. Can't just throw any old mobile in. |

I used to be a dispatcher at ALNW and can only speak from 2003 on. There was TG that was set aside for ALNW and for a portable we had set up in the event of a disaster. It was never simulcast (155.295) at the time I was there and I'm not hearing it now. Medic One had this TG programmed to communicated with us in the event the phones went down to request us, but as far as medical reports we never used it. I know that TG is listed, but I had in programmed last month and heard nothing. |

Harborview also talks on UHF. The repeater is on Squak and has excellent coverage. Harborview must have a 50+ watt base as I've copied them loud and clear on the input well outside Seattle. |

Don't forget STATE OPS, all radios to include ALNW have STATE OPS in there radios and can be used to communicate |

FWIW Harborview and westside Airmed traffic is heard 24/7 on 463.0000 R (179.9) here in Spokane. |

Lifeflight came in this evening for St. 3 & 4's drill. They used OSCCR to coordinate landing etc... |

I'd love to see a channel plan for their aircraft. When they're dispatched they're told what their ground contact will be on, but it's referenced as the channel number of the radio in the aircraft, not the name of the channel. |
