Anyone have an id on the F-18 that has been flying around for the last 20 or so minutes?

I believe that there is a air show at JBLM this weekend and it's probably in town for that. You will probably be seeing many other types of military aircraft arriving and flying around the next couple of days.......

Yesterday on Bainbridge I heard loud booms (most likely sonic) all day. Anyone else? Maybe related to the airshow?

Was it an F-18 or EA-18G and what was the callsign?

So, who's going? I'm doing the park-and-bus thing Saturday morning, parking in Lakewood and taking the free bus onto the base. It starts running at 0730, gates open at 0800. I figure, since the flying starts around 1100, I can check out/photograph all the static stuff before then, catch the airfield assault, then bail and do the radio thing the rest of the day. Sunday is my outside-the-fence day, strictly radio stuff.

Small Intercept meet-up?

Wil. Don't forget to take a camera to get some of those nice "lists" if they are not covered up :D

I'm only headed to McChord now, but I'll be doing the early show tomorrow (Sunday). The Kid stepped on a nail-laced board in the yard (we're remodelling) and I was at the hospital with him from 0800-1200.

He's good, thanks Nick. Some dissolving stitches and a tetanus shot later, and he's in the yard now griping about pulling weeds.

Was in Lakewood from 1300-1645 or so, caught some of the acts but mostly ran Pro96com on the McChord Field site of the 380trs. A bunch of new talkgroups, with the only unencrypted one being Fire Dispatch.

I noticed McChord fire was simulcasting on State Fire Red Net VHF.

Both ways- bonking 153.830 produces a talkgroup hit, with no corresponding radio ID. Or so I'd heard.
