Went down to Fort Lewis this morning, and took the opportunity to hang out in Lakewood afterwards and do some monitoring. Noted a whole lot more fully-encrypted talkgroups on the Joint Base 380 trunked system, specifically on the new Site-9 that covers McChord. Scrolled over to the McChord 406 trunked system and guess what?

It's off the air.

Confirmed this with another board member.

So, it's either:
A- In some sort of site failsoft mode. Unlikely, since I ran through all of the freqs for about half an hour.
B- Undergone a complete and ultimately gratuitous total existence failure; or
C- Gone, and the users migrated to the 380 system.

Don't feel bad if you can't use your STD100/200; there are still people using Digital Frequency Search!
