They just broke the Army/Navy rule... Is this the new Mc Chord/ JBLM site?

Interesting - is it advertising any neighboring sites?

It's definitely using the "Navy" portion of the spectrum...

This is all there is to show. I presume no neighbors means no fiber yet. Certainly no traffic today and it is showing no phase II plan.

I expected this to come in as site 9 since I really feel Ft Lewis and Yakima Firing Center are the same system. Yakima has sites 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. The next Ft Lewis site had to be 9.

The fact that the Army has remained in the lower part of 380 -staying below the Navy at 385- was only an easy way to tell these things apart. Not any more!

Stopped by JBLM this week on my way back to Portland. I actually caught some traffic on the site, but nothing was being simulcast with the other Ft. Lewis sites.

The site revealed some additional frequencies as well:

03-0498 - 386.2250
03-0529 - 386.6125
03-0546 - 386.8250
03-0640 - 388.0000
03-0654 - 388.1750
03-0696 - 388.7000
03-0708 - 388.8500

While I was listening / watching the system, only caught traffic on TG 8619, with several radios affiliated. Still not showing any neighbors.

I did notice that this site came in much better than the other sites as I got further south from the base.

Which of those are CC's? I can receive the system as far south as Castle Rock sometimes.

386.2250 MHz and 386.6125 MHz are showing as primary and alternate control channels for Site 9. It was using 386.2250 MHz when I was by on Tuesday.

Site might be on a small hilltop -- just inside the AFB -- just east of "American Lake Gardens" -- which is a doenut hole -- unicorporated County area. Westcott Hills located at 47-07-25 N by 122-30-48 W at + 360 feet AMSL.

I agree. Back in the old days I used to climb that hill after school and work South East Asia phone patches from the MARS station. It was AG5HQ and ran as a gateway for all of Nam. How time flies...

One thing I noticed Wednesday was Site 9 carried a LOT more encrypted traffic than the other ones at JBLM.
