Looks like the 154.13 will be added or used to dispatch other county fire agencies. KOF-221 still remains as the main TFD Fire call / license. Can anyone confirm ??

Being used for Central Pierce Fire District, IIRC they contract with Tacoma for dispatching.

In the last couple of months, I have heard Tacoma Fire Department dispatches on 154.130. It seemed to be "Tacoma Proper" addresses, and it was just the dispatches - no responses, no operations. There did not seem to be any rhyme or reason to it - almost like the dispatcher just happened to multi-select on it for a short period of time, and forgot to un-select it.

But, I'm sure it was probably intentional - perhaps it was a fill-in frequency used by Central Pierce while they did some frequency re-alignment or programming of the radio fleet.

Or - perhaps their in-station alerting system was down, and they were using it for "radio-watch" while the system was being repaired?

Hell - I'm just speculating....

Brad.

I highly, highly doubt that there was any rhyme or reason to hearing TFD dispatches on 154.130. TFD's dispatchers are, to be charitable, just not very good. Overly chatty and really, really slow. I suspect that they didn't realize they were sending out transmissions on VHF, because I've actually heard them replying on VHF to units that were transmitting to them on the trunked system.

However, I believe that they're all ranked Captain and above, which means they make like $100k plus, so they've got that going for them, which is nice.
