Four police officers shot and killed in a cafe near McChord.

I am not getting much over the scanner up here in Snohomish County, but hope that those who are interested in tracking jump in on this.

My sympathies to the agencies, partners, and families affected by this outrage.

PARKLAND, Wash. - Four police officers were shot and killed in a Sunday morning ambush at a Parkland-area coffee shop, officials said.

Emergency personnel rushed to the scene after receiving a report that multiple officers were shot and killed in the ambush at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, according to reports from the scene.

Pierce County Sheriff's Office spokesman Ed Troyer called the ambush "a targeted attack."

KOMO News Radio reported from the scene that a lone gunman burst into the coffee shop, shot the four officers as they were working on their computers, then fled the scene.

No one else was hurt.

Witnesses said the shootings took place at or near the Forza Coffee Co. outlet at 11401 Steele St. South, just northeast of McChord Air Force Base.

One witness who was driving past said he saw an officer on the ground just after the shootings.

Authorities later closed off the air space over the scene of the shootings.

Talked to a buddy with Lakewood PD just a bit ago; he was planning to have coffee there this morning. Apparently he was wrestling some PCP-psyched guy earlier and got bit, so he was over at the hospital instead, after his wife berated him into going. He was going to go after hanging out with his friends.
I have several friends with Lakewood, so I'm doing a little talking with God today...Been a while since I've done that.

Praying I meet this shooter/s. And hoping no one wants to make trouble today, it'll end badly.

Anyone monitor this in Pierce County? Our condolences to their families and the department. Ch5 & NW Cable news have coverage on now. Hope they get the SOB.

On king5.com/ comments, some jackass said this was good earlier. Comments are now off.
Wonder (yes) if they're tracking IP's.

Yeah, I caught wind of this morning just before finishing my shift. At first it was just "officers shot and injured," and then later FOUR KILLED! I'm totally stunned. This is just totally unbelievable.

God be with these four officers.

All kind of crazy comments in comment section of TNT too. I heard from a friend that they have been Ided as Lakewood PD, 3 men, 1 woman - but i dont know how accurate that is. This, as not really relating to anything, also right where i sit and watch the flight line.

Yes, I repeat the sentiment. Our prayers are with the officers families and the entire Pierce County law enforcement community.

No news of the Governor or our President ordering the Flag to be flown at half mast.

That would be a little quick of a response. I am sure statements will be going out from all the politicans soon enough.

Ch5 ran a statement from the Governor 1/2 hour ago and nothing about Flag but she said she would support Pierce County LE anyway she could.

The criteria for flag lowering is http://www.governor.wa.gov/flag/default.asp. I dont know if local law enforcement are considered state employees. I didnt see a directive to lower the flag when the seattle pd officer was shot
