Stopping through Yakima tonite and heard a distant repeater on HEAR 155.340. Some sort of community ambulance but can't tell where. I'm guessing to the far north or NE. Any ideas? I wasn't aware HEAR could have a repeater.

I've never heard a VHF-VHF repeater on HEAR but I have heard it crossbanded on some systems. Are you getting any PL tone on it ? Often times that will help identify who it is.

Down here in Oregon, if I go out to Marion County, HEAR is in use as enroute radio and I believe its on a repeater.

No I didn't get a pl, I was hearing through a commercial rig. I may hit the 197 when it comes across again to see what I get. Yakima had smoke conditions yesterday that were deplorable. The FS did a controlled burn which blew everything east from Bethel Ridge.
