Anyone know of anyone in King County that does them? Mine expired a couple months ago and I'd like to renew. The past 3 times I've been certified I didn't pay anything, and I want to continue that trend. Red Cross wants $39--screw that.

I'm guessing you just need lay responder? If so, Medic Two still offers free classes.
For CPR class information, please contact the Medic II - CPR Office at (206) 684-7274

Really? When did the Red Cross start charging for CPR classes? Back when I was in MIDDLE SCHOOL of all eras, they were doing them for free still.

I'm an ARC instructor, and they've been charging as long as I can remember.

Ditto - I first taught first aid for the red cross 20 years ago, and they cost money then as well - to cover the cost of the books, supplies, mannequen cleaning, etc. Most (if not all) of the instructors are unpaid volunteers.
