I just noticed Seattle Zone 1 advertizing a neighbour of Zone 16 on 860.9625. Any ideas on what is going on? I can't hear anything in Renton on this freq.

Edit: not 868.9625....I looked at this three times and still missed it!

I'm picking up nothing from the U-District.

Im on the east hill in renton and with a 800mhz 40ft in the air its dead, mind you I can also get north Seattle with poor quality, all the way to north Tacoma, so I would assume I can hear all of Seattle and east side (with the exception of Redmond hill tower)

868.9625 is licensed only to McNiel Island and WS DOT.

I'm decoding LCN of 18e for site 16 (10 hex). I get 860.9625, which is Sobieski and the bus tunnel:

WQFB827 CENTRAL PUGET SOUND REGIONAL TRANSIT AUTHORITY (SOUND TRANSIT) City: SEATTLE, WA Radio Service: YP Public Safety/Spec Emerg, 806-821/851-866 MHz, Trunked
Site: 1 Name: DSTT-IDS SOUTH PORTA Address: SOUTH PORTAL OF DOWNTOWN SEATTLE TRANSIT TUNNEL City: SEATTLE, WA County: KING Coordinates: 47° 35' 47.0" N, 122° 19' 41.2" W
Frequency: 860.96250000 V

So if someone's downtown, maybe they could check for us.

Check the Beacon Hill tunnel.

I like the Beacon Hill idea but was not sure the tunnel was that advanced as of today. I also edited the OP to correct the frequency to 860.9865.

I am in the Renton Highlands and hear SERS to Tacoma including Ed Hill but I do not hear any of the tunnels.

Beacon Hill tunnel has been online for quite a while. This is recent, but shows that it's on. You can hear one of the supervisors talking on the radio in the background. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRhQxXkk-ng

The tunnels don't cover very far outside the tunnel, so no surprise you can't hear them.

Paste the coordinates into Google Maps and it jumps to "Metro Transit Tunnel" at 5th and Airport, not the Beacon Hill one.

Perhaps this has something to do with the N & S Tunnel zone 4 & 5 showing "no voice" and "site trunking."

The north end of the tunnel is using 860.9625 as site 16. I'm not positive the south end of the tunnel is using that; I had multiple freqs programmed into that system and I didn't check to see if it roamed onto something else. 860.9625 also seems to be the Beacon Hill tunnel. From 6th & Forest, which is the same latitude as the BH tunnel, I picked up 860.9625 as site 16 bouncing between S1 and S2. The tunnel was a mess today, there was a big James Ellis event going on with a ton of DHS cops, Sound Transit office workers, and every single Transit PD (both Sound and Metro). Not sure if all of them were official Transit cops, but they all had KCSO Transit PD shirts on. I'm not sure how this site works. I was picking up Seattle Fire dispatch from inside the units. There may or may not have been fire guys inside the tunnel. I got up to the Beacon Hill station an hour later, and saw a SpecOps Rescue Team SUV, Engine 33, Engine 30, Battalion 5, Engine 13, and Ladder 22 parked outside the station. They may have been underground doing final inspections/training/drilling. If one of them was on dispatch while I was at Westlake, then site 16 would be a simulcast.

At each station Sound Transit has been setting up "Welcome" booths and a staff tent or two. The two Staff tents I saw each had 3 bank chargers filled with XTS 5000's. Should make for interesting scanning tomorrow and Sunday.

Edit: they're not XTS 5000's. I'm not sure what they are, not that the model number makes any difference.

Event staffing is being provided by Landmark Event Staffing. Nothing in ULS, and I didn't see any of them with radios. They might be using the XTSes. We'll see tomorrow.

UniTrunker says:

Site 16

855.2375
856.4625
856.9625
857.4625
858.4625
858.9625 *
859.4625 *
860.4625 *
860.9625 *

Monitorable above ground in the King Street and Link Yard areas. Busy with Transit traffic. The old tunnels Zone 4 and 5 have gone from site trunking to fail-soft.

It was working loud and clear in all three tunnels. Local event stuff is UHF conventional, radios programmed with 4 channels:
13: Workshop
14: ST
15: Emergency
16: Chat

14 is 467.7625
Not sure which one is which, but these are the other 3:
463.3875
462.9125
466.8875

All use PL of 69.3
