LERN is supposed to be unguarded.
That is, without tone for interops.
Per the radio tech dude.

Basestations now should be all 100Hz Mobiles should be CS just transmitting the tone. Some base radios are still open just because they havent been upgraded or the techs dont know better yet.

I too heard Omaha 838 last night on SKAGIT SO freq 453.400 telling CASCADE he could not get UNION xx on SKAGIT low band (155.310)

then tonight I heard CASCADE ask Union 67 (on 453.400) to go to low band because Omaha 838 was in a vehicle working on radio system and wanted to see if things were better on radios
-then anyways they went to what they called low band (155.310) and talked back and fourth a while
after a little bit they both had what they called 5x5
and didnt hear anything since (about an hr. ago)

havent heard this freq (155.310) used here in a long time

but tonight Omaha called himself UNION OMAHA 838

and anyway I was wondering whats the airplane got to do with a radio tech?
Does the airplane belong to OMAHA 838?
