Hi, I'm new to the forum.

I did a search for discussion info on LFP PD and came up 0 for my question.

I use to listen to Lake Forest park PD on the old VHF Freq 155.010 for many years.

I recently purchased and programmed a Uniden 246T handheld scanner using the Data from this site. EPSCA and all the listed control channels.

I do hear "Frank and Boy" unit traffic being dispatched by Bothell but the reception is very poor and or choppy. Mostly in the lower areas of LFP particularly by the Mall and LFP precinct.
A analog cellular (800mhz) center loaded mag mounted on the roof of my car helps a little.

Normally I'm using the Radio Shack Model: 20-283 800mhz base loaded rubber duck style antenna which really does not make a whole lot of difference. The radio works great on other systems elsewhere like Snocom trunked, etc.

Is it possible I've got the wrong control channel and picking up signals from a repeater site further away? Or is this area just a generally poor area for radio reception?

Suggestions? TIA.

Grizzly

You may want to try to use King County control channel 851.8125

I think LFP PD is an EPSCA agency.

The area he is talking about is somewhat of a radio dead spot due to the surrounding hills. There is a touch of southern exposure over the lake but thats about it.

The North Seattle Intellipeter site covers the LFP "bowl". At least, EPSCA reprogrammed their radios a number of years ago, so that they affiliated with that site first. However - since it's an IR, the traffic you hear on it may be pretty limited to the Shoreline/Kenmore Bothell area.
