While browsing though ULS I found two licenses (WQD311/WQBC493) for Seattle PD. They're PA - Public Safety 4940-4990 MHz Band. They use it for "Offical local government - law enforcement encrypted land mobile transmision in the 4940-4990 Mhz Public Safety band" 1) Why haven't I heard of this band before? 2) What equipment are they using? 3) Anything interesting going on here? |

The 4.9 GHz band has been around for some time. You can find some info on it on the Region43.org web site. I will not discuss uses- that would be for the licensee. Wiz |
