Was out all damn day today, and left the recording/logging program running.

Caught the old Fife PD freq, 155.490, in use, being called "Voted". Audio was so bad I couldn't make out much, but they ran a couple of names and plates, and did a whole mess of radio checks.

Still Fife, or someone else?

And would someone please tell those damn truckers with their whistling mics, echo boxes and roger beeps to stop using 158.940?

In the absence of other replies;
Longshot: Shoshone County ID SO is on 155.4900 R(156.7).

SCSO generally uses three digit identifiers, have not heard the term voted on that channel.

I believe they have repeaters on Silver Mountain in Kellogg. I have heard them several times into the tri-cities and also on the Montana side of the hill.

Did not discern if your signal strength was poor or just the audio was bad as in poorly patched audio. If it was poor signal perhaps you caught some westbound tropo.

Regards,
Mike

Everytime the dispatcher spoke, he stated he was "on voted". The audio sucked because the compression ratio on the program isn't perfected. I haven't been able to tweak it properly yet.

The addresses sounded like Fife, will look into it further this week.

Audio recording fixed thanks to Rich and his wise counsel. We'll see what tonight/tomorrow brings.

They were watching a house in Fife this morning around 0600, but only briefly. So I got probably 20 seconds of traffic. I'm thinking it's Fife's tac channel...

Fife still uses that as a back up if the repeated channel is down for maintenance, etc. And they call it "voted"
