Does anyone know if they have changed their station numbers? I have them having a Station 95 but now Black Lake also has a station 95. Both of these are supposedly part of the west thurston consortium along with Littlerock. Also Engine 91 from McLane looks exactly like Engine 95 in Black Lake. Someone please clarify this if you can.

They merged last year. Station 95 is the old BLFD #51 They also absorbed BLFD Station 52 as Station 96 .

http://blacklakefire.net/default.aspx

West Thurston is the name of the consortium including Dists 1, 11, 9. My feeling is this is the impetus towards one district when the voters approve. Some of the equipment says "West Thurston" like BLS transports. They rotate equip and run calls in each district, hence the consortium.

The main stations in the consortium

#
Station 51 - 5911 Black Lake Blvd SW, Olympia. now Station 95
#
Station 91 - 4131 Mud Bay Rd SW, Olympia
#
Station 11-1 - 10828 Littlerock Rd SW, Littlerock
#
Station 1-1 - 18346 Albany St. Rochester

I should add this came about as the City of Tumwater approved annexation of the area around Station 96 on the east side of the lake, and the previous Dist 5 would lose most of its tax base or would have to merge, which they did with #9. Not sure if 96 is going to be absorbed by Tumwater eventually.

So what about the rest of the stations in those districts

District #1 has Stations 1-1 and 1-2.

District #5 has Stations 95, 96 and 53

District #9 has Station 91, 92, 94, 95

District #11 has Stations 11-1, 11-3, 11-4, 11-5

So is District #9 Station 95 going to have a new number?

Nick

It is confusing

The McLane - Black Lake Fire Department Operations Division is comprised of six fire stations with four first line fire companies and an on duty Battalion Chief. (from their website)

The original McLane dist 9 station, 95 was probably renumbered.(maybe 93?) Station 95 should be the former BLFD Station 51. It was built as their HQ station just a few years ago. That is where Aid 95, Eng 95 et al responds from. This all came about after dist 5 ceased to be when Tumwater annexed part of BLFD service area. They need to really update their site but it's possible this is a short term agreement.

It doesn't show the type 3 Ford ambulance on their webpage but that should be Aid 96. Station 53 is probably the old Station 52 on Delphi when the other BLFD Station 51 (nee52, now 96?) was the old HQ. Got it, get it, good.

I might stop by and ask them what the station locations and designations are.
Okay, here's more

Dist 1 (Grand Mound/Rochester) info is correct except they moved into a new HQ station on Sargent Rd last year. The old station 1-2 is surplus and sits across from the Great Wolfe Lodge. That used to be station 14-1 (pre merger)when that was a separate dist.(Grand Mound) Isn't this fun?

Rochester station 1-2, today is the former station 1-1 on Albany St.
Dist 1 has the S. County paramedic unit, Sprint 14 which is a first responder ALS solo, non transport Ford Expedition.

Thurston Co/Wa State? is currently in dispute with the owners of the lodge over non-payment of tax revenues as one half is privately owned and the other half by the tribe, but the dist. still responds to calls regardless.

Dist 11 (Littlerock) info is correct.
