My Google-Fu found nothing.

These are atop the Auburn Sound Transit parking garage, SE corner.

There's also a TV antenna up there; I traced the conduit down and I think it goes to one of the tenants on the ground floor. I can't remember where the conduit went for those ones; I think it might have down a level and then into a junction box near a fire alarm.

I can't figure out the little Sirius-radio style satellite antenna next to the array.

I don't see it in the pics.

Perhaps a receive array for lowband meteor burst position locating.

I didn't get any close call hits. I was there back in August of 2008.

I did a little detective work, and came up with...

The satellite antenna(s) belong to a nearby deli.

As for the five spiky things... Even Sound Transit's property management is unsure (the antlers went up before the current manager's tenure began), but the best data I've gotten so far says that they belong to (drumroll)... Green River Community College.

Perhaps a remote transmitter for the campus radio station? Or perhaps newsfeed receivers?

Happy listening.

Negative on that one; KGRG-FM is up in Lakeland and KGRG-AM (formerly KENU) is in Enumclaw.

Those antennas look a little long for FM broadcast. I suppose they could be 1/2-wave with a matching coil but even at that I would expect a couple feet shorter. Another issue is the feed. Notice all the boxes are connected with flex conduit which would lead me to believe all of them are active. Must be a heck of an interesting phasing setup in a nice straight line like that. Given all that I would lean toward some custom lowband application (meteor burst?) rather than FM.

I sent the pics to a friend, this was his answer:

Quote:
Given the size of those antennas, and the relative close (< A) spacing, my guess would either be some type of interferometric array (doppler), or possibly data for metro buses...most likely frequency diverse...more likely digital with the close spacing. Should look at the junction box and see if it leads to telco or some local PA or what. Weird.

Didn't we just discuss Metro locators running in the 900mhz band?

KC Metro AVLs are lowband; 49.830. Doesn't seem like a logical place to put the AVLs. Might have something to do with the trains (Sounder)?

Purposefully Cryptic:

Have not seen these, but, have seen them before.
There is no license in the ULS (not that that means much). Receive only?

Conveniently forgotten what they were for by building manger or system deprecated locally?

Public Building adjacent to a financial business area.
